THPM Benefits...

  • Death Benefit Trust Fund - Should an officer be killed in the line of duty, the beneficiary will receive $10,000 from the Museum.

  • Trooper Fund - When an officer is killed in the line of duty, the Museum establishes a fund with a local bank. Media are alerted to this fund and 100% of the donatations raised go directly to the family of the trooper. In the past few years over $60,000 has been raised and turned over to the families.

  • Remember Our Friends Project - Too often, fellow officers who are wounded in the line of duty are forgotten after the headlines fade. Remember Our Friends Project will seek to remedy this by providing assistance to Highway Patrol officers who were seriously injured.

  • Texas Highway Patrol Magazine - A quarterly magazine included with membership in which you will enjoy fun and interesting articles involving the troopers of the Texas Highway Patrol as well as other law enforcement issues. This magazine has clearly become the best law enforcement magazine in Texas .

  • Texas Highway Patrol Museum - A facility was established through an endowment honoring the Highway Patrol's past and present members and provides educational programs for area youth. Located in San Antonio with free admission to members and their families.

  • Captain Ed Pringle Scholarship - A scholarship available for dependents of THPA members who attend college or vocational/technical higher education facilities. The scholarship is awarded each year in August.

  • Dental Insurance - Members enjoy paid dental insurance premiums for the entire household. This program through Comp Dent/Texas Dental Plans, provides dental work at reduced cost to our members.

  • Funeral Benefit Program - A funeral, cremation and cemetery benefit program provided in conjunction with Dignity Memorial is offered to all THPM members. Benefit includes a dignified and honorable tribute at no cost to the family for troopers killed in the line of duty. Additional benefits include a free funeral protection certificate for your children and grandchildren (valued at $2,500). Additional savings on funeral or cremation products and a free personal planning guide.
